O Rising Sun,

you are the splendor of eternal light
and the sun of justice.
O come and enlighten those who sit in darkness
and in the shadow of death.

Blessed are you who believe that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled. (NAB) Luke 1:45

God's Word is the light that has been provided to guide our way, since the beginning of time. God gave us this great gift to bring light into the darkness. Let his word enlighten us, as his word was the way for Our Blessed Mother and her Yes to God.

I wonder if we really want God in our lives after all. Since we do so much to not be reminded that we are his. We tend to do that with our own families, our children, our elderly ones. We rid ourselves of life when it's not what we want, but it's what God has allowed you to have. How many times have we pushed our children aside or gave them away because we can not deal with them? Or ignored elderly parents because they are a burden? After all weren't we a burden to them, demanding our way, wanting more than they could afford, yet they gave and sacrificed for you. How many times do we complain about our children not listening to us, or complain about our parents wanting some of our time. All because they want to be close to us and feel needed. In those moments we are pushing God away from our lives. Yet he loves us in spite of our selfishness. When we treat our loved one's with no respect, and constantly push them aside for our own selfish needs, it's no wonder there is so much darkness in our world today.
