Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, The Mother of God

The LORD bless you and keep you!
The LORD let his face shine upon
you, and be gracious to you!
The LORD look upon you kindly and
give you peace!
So shall they invoke my name upon the Israelites,
and I will bless them.
Numbers 6:24-27

Reflection:
What a beautiful blessing that was said so very long ago. It is one that we use today to bless those close to us.

God loves us so much to give us this blessing, so we may have peace in our lives. He sent us his Son to give us much more of himself in the way of the Word made Flesh. He was born to a woman pure from birth to fulfill God's plan.

What do we do in our lives to fulfill God's plan, do we bless those around us to bring peace. Let this first day of the the New Year be a beginning for all of us. To invoke Jesus' name upon all those we come in contact with and all the countries of the world so they too may know peace.
