Wednesday before Epiphany

Everyone who commits sin commits lawlessness, for sin is lawlessness. You know that he was revealed to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who remains in him sins; no one who sins has seen him or known him.
1John 3:4-6

Reflection:
There is truth to this. Jesus was given to us and revealed to us as the Son of God to do exactly that, take away sins.

In today's reading it is said when we commit sin we commit lawlessness and anyone who sins has not seen or known him and it's true. How can we say we know Jesus or even seen him in our neighbor when we commit vile acts against each other.

Yesterday a woman at work said to me, kindness and all that goes with it will get me no where. She said the world doesn't want kind people. This was coming from a young lady in her late twenties. She does not practice her faith either. And at times those like myself get mocked for our actions of kindness. But we are not tolerated by those who follow the path of sin.

How is it then that those with faith have patience for those who do not believe, yet those without faith have no patience at all for what life gives them. They don't see God in anyone or in anything, because they live life in sin.
