What is our Destination

When Jesus disembarked and saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.
Mark 6:34

Reflection:
Ever take a drive and somehow loose your way? After consulting a map or stopping to ask someone how to get to such and such a road we end up back on track. I call these life's little detours. We are never truly lost because we all manage to find our way back to a main road. The same when we create our own detours in faith.

We have our Priests who guide us in the way of the Word of God. We have many whose faith draw us ever closer to where we are headed. We start out our journey as baptized children, we draw close to those who lead us. As in today's reading how they went after Jesus and followed him wherever he went. These people were, as if they were lost, needed that guidance to get them where they need to be.

Like us, when we too find ourselves lost in a world filled with so much noise and useless junk. We fill ourselves with material possessions often times trying to fill a void only God can fill. In our journey we forget to stop and ask the question of where we are and how are we to get to the one place we are afraid to ask. How can we find that one destination that saves us from ourselves if we are afraid to let it show that we are seeking Eternal Salvation as our destination.

If we are not afraid to ask directions when we are driving off to a vacation spot or just lost while driving, then why not ask to have our faith righted too.
