Harvest

A demoniac who could not speak was brought to Jesus,
and when the demon was driven out the mute man spoke.
The crowds were amazed and said,
“Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.”
But the Pharisees said,
“He drives out demons by the prince of demons.”

Jesus went around to all the towns and villages,
teaching in their synagogues,
proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom,
and curing every disease and illness.
At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them
because they were troubled and abandoned,
like sheep without a shepherd.
Then he said to his disciples,
“The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;
so ask the master of the harvest
to send out laborers for his harvest.”
Matthew 9:32-38

Prayer

Dear Father the Pharisees accuse Jesus of driving out demons by the prince of demons, on what authority do they know this. Have they prayed over these lost souls and sought their healing instead. It is times like these that we see how much you need to change our hearts toward those who are ill and suffering. Your Son taught and proclaimed the Gospel and cured the sick, the prince of demons would rather create havoc than see good done for your Kingdom. Jesus knew it was time to gather those who have heard the Gospel message, those who are willing to work for the Kingdom of God. Dear Father today I ask you the same question as Jesus told us to ask you. The laborers are few, Dear Father please send us laborers for the harvest. Touch their hearts Dear Father for the time is ripe for the harvest to be gathered. Amen
