Second Monday of Our Advent Journey

When he [Jesus] saw their faith, he said, "As for you, your sins are forgiven." Then the scribes and the Pharisees began to ask themselves, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who but God alone can forgive sins?" (NAB) Luke 5:20-21

Is our faith like the scribes and Pharisees? That we don't believe strongly enough in the fact that God sent his son to forgive our sins. That Jesus died to redeem us of our sins, to free us. Our heavenly Father gives us his son to teach us about the Father's Love and Forgiveness. To pass on the legacy to his disciples, to forgive in his name. Jesus teaches us that, in him God is revealed. It is God's way of guiding us, to forgive others and ourselves. We must seek forgiveness with faith to be healed. Faith is a big part of forgiveness, without it we will muddle through life forever holding grudges against one another. Faith is the key to Jesus' teaching, just as he said in the beginning, "When he saw their FAITH." "As for you, your sins are forgiven."
