Friday, Fourth Week of Lent

Let us beset the just one, because he is obnoxious to us; he sets himself against our doings, reproaches us for transgressions of the law and charges us with violations of our training. Wisdom 2:12

This seems to be what we do to Jesus and his disciples, beset them. Do we find then the disciples of Christ today just as obnoxious, for their teaching of God's word. Is that why many of our Churches today are closing. We don't like what the disciples have to say, to remind us of how we are to live a life in Christ. We shuffle ourselves around looking for one who will agree with our ways, but the ways we are to follow and agree with are the ways of God. So next time you come across an obnoxious disciple of Christ remember they are the one's who received God's call and responded. They teach us God's ways and God's word, they act in Jesus' stead, reproaching us for our transgressions. If they are not the one's to do so, who then shall teach us about the love God has for us and the way we are to live. Without these, we would be a lawless people, aimless, loveless, dead.
