The Lepers Healing

And then a leper approached, did him homage, and said, "Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean." Matthew 8:2

How do we approach our Lord for healing? Do we humbly come to him. Or just ask in a no nonsense way to be healed. If the way we communicate with others in the world today, do we communicate the same way with Jesus? Some are demanding, some are complacent. Some are I want it now. And then we have if only you would do this I would do that for you. Some are whiners in everything.

Today we read of a leper who is poverty stricken, outcast from people, not able to go and worship with others. Yet this one humbled himself by giving due homage to our Lord. In a very humble way he asked to be made clean, and only if it be by His Will.

How often do we humble ourselves, and even say if it be by your will when we pray. Sometimes I think we become too routine in our prayers and forget to speak humbly with our Lord. It's usually when sickness or something that happens in our life that we truly speak to God from our hearts. And even then, at times we pray in anger, because we blame Him for our woes.

For today put yourself in the lepers shoes, and humbly seek the Lord and give him due homage.
