Wednesday of the Second Week of Advent

Advent Prayer

Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, ever faithful to your promises and ever close to your Church: the earth rejoices in hope of the Savior's coming and looks forward with longing to his return at the end of time. Prepare our hearts and remove the sadness that hinders us from feeling the joy and hope which his presence will bestow, for he is Lord for ever and ever. Amen.

They that hope in the LORD will renew their strength, they will soar as with eagles' wings
Isaiah 40:31

Reflection:
Have any ever felt as if they want to soar to the heaven's upon receiving our Lord? This is what it feels like when our souls want to take flight as if on eagles' wings.

Many times I have felt this way after receiving our Lord, and what a feeling it is too. It's pure joy! It's the feeling we can fly like the wind, it's beautiful to know and hard to understand and explain.

When we are happy beyond ourselves we have a feeling we could fly, and I'm not even sure if any have ever been that happy to feel this. There was one time I recall clearly after communion I wanted to soar to heaven, in a sense to be with our Father. In those moments it was the most beautiful experience a person could ever have.

Anyway in this reflection we can let our souls take flight because he does strengthen us, he is our hope and most of all our joy. God Bless
