Life and Death

Yesterday we lay to rest my Uncle. In life I always remembered him as a quiet man. Through the years he had his own trials of illness as his body started to age. Here was a man who in life never complained about his aches. He accepted his trials with grace. His concern for his four children has always been his priority in life. When I saw my Uncle in his casket, I was amazed at how peaceful he looked. My Dad had said he received the last rites about ten minutes before he expired. He's the second person I have seen that had the look of absolute peace with a smile about their face. Knowing them in life and how they looked when they smiled made the realization that in death they also have found life. We often wonder is there life after death, I believe there is just by witnessing in death the happiness that is upon the face of the person who died. I have been given something extraordinary in my life, the Eucharist, and what God has chosen to reveal to me with the pictures I have taken. In God's way he is reinforcing what is written in the Bible. There is a statement that comes to mind about how we live determine's how we die. If we live simple honest lives, with God as our guide, then in death we will have true life. I am still in awe of God's Graces and how those Graces are in Our Lives.
