Third Tuesday in Our Advent Journey

"Which of the two did his father's will?" They answered, "The first." Jesus said to them,"Amen, I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you." (NAB) Matthew 21:31

The first one said no, but changed his mind and did the will of the father. The second one said yes, but did nothing. We all tend to do this ourselves also. We are asked by our spouses, parents, others, to do something and with good intentions we say yes, only to not do what was asked. Why is this? Is it because we have no love for our neighbor after all. Or is it we just go through the motions giving lip service to make the requestor feel comfortable. That's what the devil does by-the-way. He tells us what we want to hear but does not follow through.
Sometimes when we say no, then have a change of heart, we show more love in that instant. The voice of the Holy Spirit is alive in those souls who have a change of heart, for they are listening.
