As One

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one. John 10:28-30

A man finds a woman and they marry to become one, just as Adam and Eve are one. We have children from a union with two made one. We become one as a family, united in spirit. A mother worries about her family, a dad worries about his family, a child worries about their family. A person would have to be heartless not to have these feelings. How often do mothers stay up worried , or know something is wrong. Dads often go to lengths to protect their own. We KNOW our unit of family, because we are one with each other. So it is with God and his Son. They go to lengths to protect us in their way. When we live in unity with God we come to know him as well, just as we do with those we are born from.
God entrusted us to his Son, who suffered to show us his way is love. He rose from the dead in order to give us life. It is through Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life. This is where eternal life begins.
So think about the close family relationship we have at home, and then add Jesus along with our daily life. It's not hard to do. After all we are one with our families. Or are we?
