Solemnity of All Saints

After this I had a vision of a great multitude,
which no one could count,
from every nation, race, people, and tongue.
They stood before the throne and before the Lamb,
wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.
They cried out in a loud voice:

"Salvation comes from our God, who is seated on the throne,
and from the Lamb."

All the angels stood around the throne
and around the elders and the four living creatures.
They prostrated themselves before the throne,
worshiped God, and exclaimed:

"Amen. Blessing and glory, wisdom and thanksgiving,
honor, power, and might
be to our God forever and ever. Amen."

Revelation 7:9-12

Reflection:
Those who have died and gone before us have prepared themselves to be the one's who appear before the throne of God and the Lamb. They are the one's we call Saints. They endured our selfishness, and purified themselves of our sins so they could be one with those who now stand before the throne.

For them it is was a great undertaking to live their life pleasing to God. It was their greatest desire, so they could offer prayers on our behalf, and pray along side us to the Father.

What a beautiful vision we have been given to know the honor God bestows on the faithful that follow him. But we who live today forget our goal, the goal to attain heaven. Out of the many that live in this world would they say this is what they desire? Would it be the majority that would say yes. Or would it be a very small amount of people who seek this in their lives.

The saints sing God's praises along with the angels. Why, because they are united to a very loving God. They see God in all his majesty. And to know and love him with all their hearts. They help us when we need to be able to praise God for his goodness, giving us help on our journey in life. How truly blessed the saints are for they see God.
